auly Shore first came to major national attention with
his television show, "Totally Pauly," which debuted on MTV in June,
1990. He has since starred in the comedy feature films, "Encino
Man", "Son-in-Law," "In the Army Now," and "Bio-Dome"."Every movie I've done
was awful," he admitted to the Washington Post in 1995.
Shore's
Fox network sitcom, Pauly, debuted in March 1997.
Pauly has also continued his successful
stand-up comedy work, which has included a one-hour special, "Pauly Does
Dallas," on HBO. His first comedy recording, "The Future of America,"
won the 1991 College Music Journalists award for best comedy album. He
followed this up with "Scraps from the Future," which was nominated for
a National Association of Recording Merchandisers Best Seller award.
Shore has recently released his third album, "Pink Diggily Diggily."
Shore's training in comedy comes from a hearty family background: his
mother, Mitzi Shore, is owner and director of The Comedy Store
nightclubs in Hollywood and San Diego, and his father is comedian Sammy
Shore. Growing up watching comedians, "It wore off on me," he says,
"It's not my fault I was a comedy sponge."
