Many of the graduates have gone on to "win" their first open mike contest. Others have made enough money in their first year to more than pay for the classes. I combined the most important aspects of
my writing and performance classes to create a SPECIAL COURSE
for Chattanooga. We will write material, analyze successful
comics, define WHAT makes them funny and get a working knowledge
of how to create an act. Then we will work out your material
onstage to prepare you for a killer 3 minute set. This
class is pure fun and will tap your hidden genius to find the
hilarious you! Onstage workshops will help you "Get out
of your Head" and into the moment. Learn how to generate
creative thinking you can apply to auditions, interviews, speeches
and Stand-Up Comedy. This is a workout for your brain and a
release for your body. A great class to take with a friend!
Even if you do not have THE DREAM of making it BIG in Comedy...this class will make you a better actor. Some of the Biggest Names in Show Business began as Stand- Up Comics. Jim Carey, Jerry Seinfeld, Tim Allen. Of course All the People that began in "Saturday Night Live". Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler, David Spade, Steve Martin & Chevy Chase just to name a few. If you want to just become a BETTER PUBLIC SPEAKER. This class will make the difference between a BORING, PAINFUL 30 Minute Speech or Message or ONE that will FLY BY people wondering where ALL the TIME went. Humor is UNIVERSAL for message delivery & retention. This class will be for ages 18 & Up and will be focused on creating CLEAN COMEDY. Making it GREAT for EVERY ONE including Teachers, CEO's, Sales Managers & Pastors. This class is designed to help you begin writing material, or take material you already have and making it much funnier. This class is focused on writing and is strongly recommended for beginners and those who have attended open stages, but not developed the material as far as they know it can go. We'll discuss and define YOUR style of humor. YOU will write material that can be honed into a building block in YOUR comedy act. Learn how to develop an "EYE" for comedy. Past students have gone directly from the class to successful appearances at stand-up nights around town. Many are now performing regionally for real money!

Rik Roberts has been a professional comedian for 14 years. He started in Columbus, OH with Nationally Touring Improv Troupe Midwest Comedy Tool & Die. From 1990-1997 MCTD hit the road and became a club favorite for comedy club chains such as Zanies, The Funny Bone & the Improv. In 1994 Rik began developing a headlining stand-up act that has taken him to 3 countries, 42 states, 60+ comedy clubs, 30+ colleges and over 200 corporate events.
